    switching to KDE 4?

I'm running Hardy Heron with KDE 3.5. Following the advice on the kubuntu website, I installed KDE 4 (through Adept). When it asked me which display manager to use as the default, I chose KDE 4.

Now it uses the new display manager on login, but everything else is still 3.5. How do I do a full switch-over? Do I need to uninstall KDE 3.5? I haven't tried that yet for fear of seriously breaking things.

    Thanks!

At login, you should see a menu. Click on it, choose "session type" and choose KDE4.
Since by default, the display manager always loads your previous session, if you want to always use kde4 it is enough to do it once. Similarly, if you want to go back to kde3.5, do the same thing: "menu", "session type", "kde".

BTW, all the kde apps don't have a version 4 yet. So don't be surprised, when running KDE 4, to open one of the less popular apps and discover that it is still 3.5.x.
