Usb mouse not detecting after kde 4 starts

    Hi,

Recently i realized that my kde 4 (first 4.o and now 4.1) is not detecting my usb mouse if i plug it after the boot is complete, then, i need to restart the notebook to use it.
This is also happening to my printer (HP 640 adapted to usb), but as i dont use it often, i am not sure if the problem is related.

The system detects normally any usb storage device and i didnt realize if this starts to happen after some installation or upgrade.

My computer is a DELL Vostro 1000 64 bits running over kde 4.1

    Any suggestions?
    Thank you

Keep your USB mouse plugged in before you boot. (Sorry, just had to state the obvious)

KDE 4/4.1 "not ready for prime-time" as has already been posted/stated.

        Probably not. :P

One can hope that when KDE 4.2 is released, it will be as reliable as 3.5.9.

The problem with my printer is another else, already solved and due to hardware questions, but the problem with the mouse persists...

Is there some command that i can run to detect my mouse after boot?

I just realizes that after sometime with my usb mouse plugged (it was plugged after the boot is complete) the system detected it!

At least, i dont need to reboot now, just be patient :-P

What i said in the last post is wrong.

The bizarre solution i discovered is: i plug the mouse and then the printer so KDE detects both!
              It's bizarre, but works always!
