    video plugin???

I did a search for video plugin but didn't find anything that would answer my question.

Running Firefox 2.0 and was trying to play an online musical video. Got the notice about the missing plugin. Tried to install it but automatic install failed. Don't know which plugin is needed so I hesitated to try and install it manually.

Is there some way that I can find out which plugin is needed?

    Re: video plugin

usually when firefox needs a plug-in it tells you which one in the drop-down at the top of the browser window.
do you know what type of video it was? ie: flash or quicktime.

if it is Flash then you will need to install flashplugin-nonfree

also, depending on which video/audio player you are using you might just have to install the plug-in for it.
I use Kaffeine so I installed the kaffeine-mozilla plug-in through Adept.
along with that I also have the xine-plugin

for example, if you are using mplayer... then search for the mozilla-mplayer plug-in.
