    KDE 4.1 Official Release



    I finally managed to get 4.1 up and running after installing three times. I started from the official HH disk but the first two times it screwed up, finally worked the third time. Then had to run kicker from krunner so that I could run konsole to get plasma and panel back. I must say it looks good but there are still some niggling problems like icons disappearing from the panel..

    did it break any programs?? I was thinking of upgrading but don't want to have any of the programs I use break after install.
    maybe I should wait.

      All seems to be fine now after a difficult gestation period, One thing I have noticed is that especially to begin with, be sure to perform a proper shutdown as just switching off causes all sorts of funny things to happen. I guess I was spoiled by 3.5.9 which withstood any amount of punishment.
