My update manager lists the package linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic on the list. But when I update, it could not commit changes. Even when I download the deb file separately and install it locally, the same result happens. What could be the problem? Is it related from breakage from a previous failed update due to unreliable Internet connection? Thanks.

Re: Kernel update 2.6.24-19 breaking
I know understand why. When I downloaded this new update, the metapackage was not selected properly. It depended on the metapackage, so it would always break if I downloaded it individually. I uninstalled this package that contained the same kernel version (.19) and re-downloaded it by selecting the metapackage through adept. That did it.
