Hi,
I am trying to get the kde system sounds to work through alsa on a kubuntu 8.04 64 bit system. Anyone done this?
The reason I am trying to do this is that if I have kde system sounds enabled I have tons of problems with my webcam. If I turn off the kde system sounds the webcam works fine for both audio and video. The only thing is I miss the little sounds of windows opening and closing and little sound reminders I had for different things. My other sound programs work fine I can listen to radio and mp3's, just no system sounds. I am at the latest level's of software and updates.
I have tired several things found on the web but none of them have helped. I haven't played with audio so much on the system so if you have any suggestions, please be as verbose as possible. Here is my .asoundrc.asoundconf
# Manual changes to the ALSA library configuration should be implemented
# by editing the ~/.asoundrc file, not by editing this file.
