I'm sorry, I really really am sorry. I did check the forums already with the search to see if there was anything similar and despite the many skype topics I couldn't find much help. Basically I had video working in Skype the other day, but I was running 64 bit KDE4 Kubuntu 8.04. I was getting a multitude of problems elsewhere and decided to jump back to 32 bit and also KDE 3.5.9. Only problem is not the camera doesn't work. I have this really weird green screen (when I test the camera) but then the tiny fraction at the top is fine. I've also tried Ekiga and Camorama (doesn't even work) and Kopete (crazy close-up double vision).
I have a Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 (046d:08c5), and I've not played about with installing uvcvideo, just using it as it comes (that's what I did with the 64 bit version previously). A couple of other outputs that may help.

And I've attached an image to show you the test screen.
