I am unable to play a DVD in Kaffeine. When I try, the 'Kaffeine codec installer' starts (never seen this before, 'must be new) and gives a message 'codec not found' (big shock there).
I am not using KDE 4.
I know about libdvdcss creating problems and needing to be installed in order to play dvds. Actually, to be honest, I went to my Kubuntu install hoping to play my DVD. I cannot get it to play in Debian even though I have libdvdcss and win32codecs installed.
Edit: I tried:
I'm not sure what to do or whether a repository has to be 'included.' If so, which one?
I suspect this topic has been posted before but if someone could humour me by providing the answer or suggest what I might try/do?
I think there should be a sticky and/or FAQ for this topic, imho. Perhaps, they can't but maybe someone could post it to their blog? :-/
LibDVDCSS (http://www.videolan.org/developers/libdvdcss.html) is about to be installed, it allows you to watch encrypted DVD videos. This is illegal in some countries which require decryption to be authorised by the copyright holder. Do you want to install this package?

Code:
$ sudo apt-get install LibDVDCSS2 Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done E: Couldn't find package LibDVDCSS2
