artsd 100% cpu

Hi,

Have a sound blaster audigy sound card and have the latest drivers installed. The sound works ok but I keep getting popups about the artsd over loading the cpu. I also see in "top" that artsd pegs the cpu at 100%.
Anyone know of this as an issue? Any work arounds?

well killit, go into run - kcontrol, sound and multimedia - second tab - select Alsa - back to first - disable the sound system - also if you want remove all u can of aRts in the adept, synaptic, etc..

Hi,

Thanks but removing the sound system is not what I want to do here. Also if you try to remove artsd you will end up removing almost all of kde. I did a simulation and it wasn't pretty.
