I'm missing something as I can't get MTP to work.
I installed libmtp7, mtp-tools, and mtpfs. I modified /etc/udev/libmtp.rules and /etc/udev/rules.d/45-libmtp7.rules by adding a line with vendor and product IDs that I got from lsusb (4102:1141). I even rebooted, even though this OS is not Windows. When I connect the player, its screen indicates that it is connected to USB in MTP mode. As I noted, I can see the device using lsusb. But when I execute mtp-detect, I get
libmtp version: 0.2.6.1
Attempting to connect device(s)
Detect: No Devices have been found
I tried mtpfs <mount point> anyway, but when I try to ls the directory, I get
ls: cannot access <mount point>: Transport endpoint is not connected
mount shows that the mtpfs is mounted. Does anyone see what I'm doing wrong?
