    kde-guidance Doesn't List Monitor Make

    Hello all,

I'm trying to configure the display resolution on my laptop, using kde-guidance. Specs:

    Asus Z84J
    Intel® CoreT 2 Duo T7200 2.00GHz 4MB 667FSB
    2 x 2GB Kingston DDR2 667 Dual Channel
HD 100gb 7200 rpm SATA (XP and Ubuntu Hardy Heron + kubuntu-desktop)
    NVIDIA Geforce Go 7700 w 512MB RAM

I don't see Asus listed as a manufacturer in the list when I detect the monitor; it just defaults to Plug'n'Play. Any hints?

    Thanks in advance,
    actual

First, welcome to the Kubuntu Forums.

You have an nVidia card in your PC. You might want to review the thread on HOWTO: Install and use the Envy script installer for video drivers

      Hey Snowhog,

      Thank you! Coming back, actually

I had grabbed Envy, and used it. I've been using the Adept updates, but I'll give it a shot. The issues with Nvidia cards and Core Duo systems are real heartbreakers...
