    Jerky Video

Whenever I access a site such as U-tube or even try some of the CNN video clips the video comes in a jerly start and stop manner. After just a few seconds it seems to be buffering and it is excruciating to have to watch video in this manner.

What can I do to improve it?

I am using FF v.3.x and have 250MB as browser cache.

Is there a program available in the repos I could use to just d/l the video to my HDD and then watch it?

I am using the 64 bit version of Kubuntu 8.04 with all updates.
