kcb error at 96% burning iso image

hey.
everytime i try a burn a ISO image i get this error message at 96% can anyone help? (see attached debugging output)

Looks like an elaborate version of the old "buffer underrun" error.

I would search Ubuntu forum, using the make and model of your optical drive, and see if you get any indication that others have had a similar problem, and maybe how they worked around it. There isn't a lot of "tweakability" in the Kubuntu setup for optical drives, unfortunately -- either wodim handles it correctly, or .... :P

I have had the situation where you burn a DVD ISO image which verifies OK yet when you use it to install, it would just stop for no apparent reason. This happened to me a lot on Feisty Fawn and earlier.
