(solved) Videos not playing at Kubuntu 8.04 kde4 64bits

    Hi,

i just installed Kubuntu 8.04 kde4 in my dell vostro 1000 64 bits.
I followed every single tutorial to install codecs and relate files for media support (from mediubuntu repository), but my Dragon Player and Kaffeine are not playing my avi files. Theu play the sound perfectly but the image is just a blu rectangule...

Does anybody know if w64codec is so effective as w32codec?

    Is there some other suggestion?

    thanks

Try this. In Kaffeine click on Settings, then Xine Engine Parameters, then video and change the selection to xshm instead of auto. See if that works.

      It worked!

But i still have 2 questions:
1 - What does it mean what i did?
2 - How do i do the same at Dragon Player?

      thank you!

I don't know, just that Kaffeine can't seem to select the right player when set to auto.

Sorry, I don't have any experience with Dragon Player.
