restore previous session in session manager not working

    Hello all,

I installed kubuntu Hardy Heron with kde4, and I can say kde4 was nowhere near usable. So I decided that rather than re-download the kde3 CD I'll simply install kde3 and remove kde4 which worked well. Except "restore previous session" inside the Session Manager just doesn't work, it behaves exactly like "start with an empty session". "Restore manually saved session" works fine.

How can I go about debugging this problem?

    Thanks!

    OK. It's working now.

I did two things and I'm not sure which might have helped in solving this.

    1. In "session manager" I chose restore defaults.
    2. I explicitly logged out rather than shutting down, when I logged back in the session was saved.

If I find out anything else about this I'll be sure to post.

Glad to hear that you resolved your dilemma. If you would, return to your initial post in this thread and click on the modify button and add SOLVED to the subject line.
