KDE4.1(beta2) Kontact PIM - recurrence fails; settings not saved

Hi All,

As people know Kontact (kdepim-kde4) took a few days to get into the 4.1beta2 PPA repositories. It looks really good, I think, and Kmail works well. But it seems there's still a bug or two in Calendar. If you set colours for the Categories they are not saved and if you set an Appointment to recur (say a monthly meeting or a yearly birthday) you can set the recurrence details in the form but they do not seem to be implemented.

Is anybody else seeing this? Perhaps this part of Kontact still needs updating? Any suggestions welcome.

I wish I had a solution for you, but I am have problems with KDE4.1 Calendar also. The one you described, but scheduled Events duplicate as well. Attempts to delete the duplicate in a pair results in the entire Event disappearing as well. I have not been sure whether this is just due to my not knowing the program well and I am doing something wrong, or if these are bugs.

Thanks. I now find that the updated KDE4.1 PIM works pretty well so all the recent updates/improvements have sorted out the bugs - it's no longer (beta2). Recurrence now works. Most things seem to be saved and remembered. Just occasionally the Calender profile seems to change, but other than that I think the whole Kontact-PIM suite is pretty well sorted out. Thanks to all the hard-working coders!
