    Email attack from Britain.

    Hallo,
Since yesterday evening I am attacked over the Internet. My mailbox is stuffed by thousends of messages from the Postmaster in which he tells me that my delivery of emails has failed. All these addresses are in Britain of which I don't know anyone. I haven't send any Brit a message recently, so there is nothing to deliver. It might be that to install virus and spyware on a computer is impossible in Linux, but how do I stop this attack? My only recent contact with anyone British is on this forum.

Which email app are you using? If you are on thunderbird just mark them as spam and use edit>preferences to set he spam incoming to automaticla relay those marked spams to your spam folder. You can also use the filter to filter out those mail addresses.

If you are on kmail install spamassassin (in the repos) and you will find it in the tool bar when you open up kmail (kontact) the next time. Set it to your needs.

    Evolution is basically the same.

That means nothing in the days of milloins of spams per second.
Depending on your email address and surfing habits they will get you.

Especially if your home page (www.yourpage.com) and pertinatnt email address (info@yourpage.com) is prominent in google or you have a hotmail / googlmail / whatever "free" mail account pointing to your mail app.

    I hope this helps
