Firefox 3 won't run jre (Java)

On HH 64bit, I can't get JRE (Java) to work work in Firefox 2 or 3 (Freshly installed today). I used Adept Manager to install FF2, FF3, and the JRE6 files.

    I've tried:
    sudo ln -s /usr/lib/jvm/ia32-java-6-sun-1.6.0.06/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/firefox-addons/plugins

I noticed from a search here it seems to be a problem. Has anybody got it working?

I got JRE to work with Konqueror okay so I know the correct Java stuff is there, but I seem to be missing the mark when it comes to plugging it into FF.

    Thanks in advance,

    WMRobins

You have to use the "Iced Tea" plugin for FF3 in 64 bit. Search for it in synaptic or Adept, and if it is not installed install it. Once you have it installed, if it does not show up in aboutlugins, click on tools Add-ons, open the Plugin tab and see if it is listed there, if it is but greyed out, click on it, and click Enable. Then refresh aboutlugins and it should be there.
