can't read burned video DVD in Windows

    hello there,
since I've installed Kubuntu 8.04, I'm having problem reading all video DVDs burned with k3b or with
"growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/cdrom -dvd-video .". The files are authored correctly with dvdauthor but Windows show empty disc. The only difference found by dvd+rw-mediainfo is

[readable DVD burned by old OS on same hw [Fedora 5]]

    READ TRACK INFORMATION[#1]:
    Track State: complete incremental

[not readable DVD burned by Kubuntu 8.04]

    READ TRACK INFORMATION[#1]:
    Track State: complete

I haven't found more differences at all yet Funny thing is that the disc is openable by DVD Shring, although Windows explorer shows no file/dir.

I'm trying to solve this for quite a few days but no success Any ideas?
    thanks

Re: can't read burned video DVD in Windows

Is there just a bug with Kubuntu 8.04 or k3B in hardy?

I burn video DVDs with K3B but they don't playback on a standalone player.

If i burn the same file using Nero in windows it play back fine.

Am i just missing a setting somwhere?

Re: can't read burned video DVD in Windows

I can't test in windows, 'cos I only have a rudimentary win2k for games on virtualbox, but my dvds work in apple and stand alone players.

Perhaps you ought to try the windows vlc version - that must work!
