As regards email merges using the contacts - I'm afraid I can't help you there, never do it myself.

Re: KAddressBook & KMail Busted? Good Alternatives?
Hi,
I've also started using Kmail about a month ago after using thunderbird (which I loved but then switched to Kmail with HardyH as Kmail was the basic HardyH mail program) - and not having a good experience with Kmail.
I just wondered if Kmail in KDE4 will not be upgraded to such an extent that it will be much better - it is about one month away from now from KDE4
Can anyone come back on this?

Posts #22 & #23 are somewhat relevant here, or at least offer some reading from a reliable user (rbmorse):

These are such basic functions. How could they miss them?

Thunderbird has a stand alone util for importing stuff, I have used it.

I like thunderbird, it's the only client I know which quickly handles the tons of spam one gets.Greetings from Groningen Netherlands
