No spell check on Thunderbird

I am running Xubuntu but I can't get much response on their forum so I post here. I am using Thunderbird on both Kubuntu and Xubuntu, but it is always that spell check doesn't work on Xubuntu, I already installed dictionary but it is still blank on the spell check page during send mail, where Kubuntu worked fine out of the boxd w/o install dictionary manually, any idea ?

In Thunderbird, click on Edit, then Preferences, the click the Advanced tab, then open the Config Editor. Enter the word "spell" in the search bar. You should get a list like this. If any of the values need to be changed, you can change them by highlighting the entry, then rightclicking it.
