Adept Package Manager - Upgrade Options

    Hey all,

I am new to Kubuntu and have been using it now for a month or two. My question relates to the option to do Full Upgrades / Safe Upgrades using adept.

I am assuming that the upgrade is an upgrade to the latest versions of all software installed, however is it recommended doing this? What exactly is it that makes a safe upgrade safe How often should I be doing this if at all.

The last question that I have is how does the Safe / Full upgrade compare to the adept notifier

Any light shed would be great so thanks in advance!

Re: Adept Package Manager - Upgrade Options

aptitude safe-upgrade will not upgrade packages if:
relied dependencies have not been updated to the required version.
installing the upgrade means removing dependencies that other packages need.

aptitude full-upgrade will update packages unless:
the upgrade removes dependencies that other packages need

Console command man aptitude for full information on the two options.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
