Firefox input encoding not work properly set

After the upgrade to kubuntu 8.04 Firefox 2.x has been replaced by Firefox 3.0. First everything seemed to be okay. Content in German language is displayed correctly (also the umlauts ä,ö,ü) but if I try to fill in an input field like this the umlauts are not correct (I only see ä,ö,ü).

Does anybody know how to fix this error?
