Seems that the performance of desktop share icons is really inconsistent, or I just don't understand how they work. In each of my machine fstab's I have an entry to mount a music and a video share. The shares mount fine, but I get an automatically generated icon on the desktop that says:
Remote Share (//192.168.1.110/music)
which with word wrap, etc. makes the two icons indistinguishable and damn near worthless. When I right click on the icons and go to properties and attempt to rename them, I get a bunch of errors that appear as if they will hose things. I want them to appear as simply music and videos, the name of the folders where the shares mount in /media. What is the right way to go about this? Thanks.
