[SOLVED] Accents not working in some programs

Hi everyone!

I recently installed Hardy Heron. I set the locale to catalan, keyboard model Generic 104-key PC, and keyboard layout to Spain (es). To my (very limited) knowledge I installed all the Catalan and Spanish necessary packages.
The problem is that I'm not able to type accentuated characters (regardless of the font used).
I haven't tried to use deadkeys, but I wouldn't like to have to (I have a Spanish keyboard...)

I'll appreciate any help you can give me.

Translation to English follows:

It's a problem with the files /etc/environment and /etc/default/locale. Language option must be valid. I had the option LANG="ca_ES.UTF-8@valencia", when it should be only LANG="ca_ES.UTF-8" (for Catalan locales). Removing the "@valencia", executing

$ sudo locale-gen

$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales

and rebooting, everything works fine. I don't know if it's necessary to execute both commands, I did and it worked. There's at least another file containing "ca_ES.UTF-8@valencia", the path is /var/lib/locales/supported.d/local, but it's not necessary to change it to have the accents working (I did it just in case).
