In Kubuntu 8.04 several days ago there was an update to qt. Since that was installed I have weird results when I do a File/Open on a fresh load of programs such as GIMP and Firefox the list of directories in the base view (at my home location) includes all the hidden, dot, files. Not a major issue, just an inconvenience. It may not be qt, but it was just at that time. Does anyone else see this?

Re: . files in directory lists
I see that in Gimp but not in Firefox (for reasons which I'll get to.) I don't know how to change it but I highly doubt it's anything to do with a QT update given that Firefox and Gimp are built with GTK. (GTK is actually Gimp Tool Kit.)
In Firefox I have set the boolean preference ui.allow_platform_file_picker to false. It gives you a KDE style file dialogue instead. I think I saw something similar for Gimp once but can't just fine it.
