    fdisk error cannot open. why

im a bit puzzled here and need help.
im going through studying for my LPI exam and now hit a stumbling block

according to the book 'fdisk /dev/hda' should show the requested disk structure.
when i try the above command it says "it cannot open". i looked in the /dev folder
and there is no hda in there at all.

run kubuntu both on my laptop and PC and i cannot get this to work. so how do
you run fdisk to make it work?

    thank you

I am not expert but have a look at /etc/fstab.

That will tell you where your partitions/disks are mounted.

with kubuntu they are usually are in /media and are called sda not hda.

I hope that points you in the right direction.
