Dolphin questions

Why is it that dolphin refuses to remember the view order?
When i set them to last modified order, i would so like it that it remembers that it is the preferred setting, or even that that is the way i ALWAYS want to see files.
I have looked into the options but there is no way to tell it this :-(
Is there anyone out there with any advice?

I have the same problem, but I get an error message that .kde//share/congif/d3lphinrc is not writable (that's where the preferred style should be saved).
When I look at the file properties it shows 'root' and all the preference options are greyed out.

I hope someone can tell me how to fix this, and it will probably save your problem too.

After you check the permissions on the /home/usr/.kde/share/config/d3lphinrc file, open it in a text editor and look for the following entry.

Save View=true

or

Save View=false

If it's set to "false" set it to "true" and save the file. Then open dolphin and click on View then Adjust View Properties, set them the way you want. The close dolphin, reopen it and see if it worked I hope this works for you.

Thanks for the useful tip! Now, is that option not configurable through Dolphin itself? I guess not, that's why it's causing trouble to some users...
