    kdm and systemsettings

    Hi all,

I recently upgraded to Hardy and have a number of problems. The biggest two are:

    1) When I log out of a KDE (or Fluxbox) session, kdm does not load. I just get a blank screen. ctrl alt backspace doesn't reload it. I end up having to ctrl alt F2 and reboot.

    2) systemsettings crashes every time. It will not open. I tried reinstalling it but that didn't help.

    I am running KDE 3.5.9 (not 4.0)

Any suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    Re: kdm and systemsettings

If you have an nvidia card using legacy drivers, try this for problem #1: edit the /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc file, look for the line

    Code:
    #TerminateServer=True
and remove the # at the start of the line.

Not sure about systemsettings. what does it say when you try to run it in Konsole?

      Re: kdm and systemsettings

      Thanks! That fixed KDM!

As far as systemsettings goes, when I run it in Konsole it just says:

      Code:
      KCrash: Application 'systemsettings' crashing...
      The Backtrace says:
