"Sudo reboot" - System log says "Attempting manual resume"

    Hi,

    I am running Hardy + KDE 4

I have problems with normal shutdown. Even when I do a sudo reboot from Konsole, a normal reboot does not happen. When I looked at the syslog, I could find a line which says "Attempting manual resume" after the restart. I am not sure why restart is acting as a suspend/resume.

Any help? I have attached the system log here.

Hmm, I'm not sure if this is the same issue. There is a bug in the restricted driver of some video cards that keeps the system from shutting down properly. There are several posts about this in this forum and there is a patch available.

Thanks for the response Volker. Would that be a KDE4 patch?
