[Solved] DVD in kaffeine - missing LibDVDCSS

I'm getting an "object not found" from http://kubuntu.org/packages/libdvdcss-i386.deb when kaffeine tries to install its libraries automatically.

Adept manager doesn't find the library.

    1) Where can I get libdvdcss to play DVDs with kaffeine?
    2) where do I add a SW source for adept manager?

    Thanks,
    Alex

Solved by following instructions here: http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...89334#msg89334

I had the same problem, and the answer is somewhere on the forum, but don't know where...
Thankfully i know how to do it without this.
Go to your Konsole and type
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install LibDVDCSS2
    And it should work

I installed libdvdcss2 but Kaffeine still bleats about the DVD being encrypted and that I should install the library, oblivious of the fact it's already done. Any suggestions?

If you have not already done so, then follow my HOWTO: Get commercial DVD playback in Kaffeine
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

Snowdog, all I did to get the missing lbccss2...was to click on the VCD 'button'..in Kaffeine.
And, following the prompts...it load lbcss2 (didn't say it though), straight-off.
Stuck a DVD in, and, sure enough, it played.
          No Sound problems, either.
I tried the 'long way round' version you quoted, had no success with it.
Did I just 'fluke' it, or can I repeat what I have done?
It is no 'fluke''. I can indeed repeat what I did. (Did it, to prove to myself ...that it was definitely no 'fluke'.)
Any time I do a re-install of System (Kubuntu 8.04).
