Desktop access button won't work (solved)

    Hi
I don't know when this happened, and I don't use it too often but when I went to use the Desktop access button today, nothing happens. I have logged out, and also rebooted with no success.
Anybody got an idea why this would be the case, or can anybody tell me where I can make changes to it.
    Thanks

      Mine is 3rd from left:
K, then System Menu, then Desktop Access.
      I presume that's what he lost ...?

As to your question, may we safely assume that when you click on the Desktop Access icon, you have other applications running and maximized?

          Hi and thanks for replying.
Yes I have applications running, and all that happens when clicked is that it animates like the other buttons, and nothing happens.

You can try this (you have nothing to loose):

Right-click on the Desktop Access icon and select Remove Desktop Access Button
Right-click on the panel and select Add Applet to Panel...
Scroll down and click on Show Desktop and click on Add to Panel

Then click on the newly added Desktop Access icon and see if it doesn't work 'as expected.'

                Hi
Tried that, made no difference unfortuately, but thanks for the advice, it's appreciated.

How much 'customization' to your system have you made, if any? I ask, because if you haven't made much (or any), you can try deleting the .kde folder in your ~ directory. (the hidden .kde folder in your home directory). If you don't know how to do this, post back.

Deleting this folder, and rebooting will result in it being recreated. That alone may correct the problem.

I knew someone would have an answer to this! Worked perfectly, and I didn't lose too much of my customization anyway.
                    Many Thanks
