    systemsettings crashing

    - how to resolve?
I want to change the default behaviour so that I auto-login - where is the cfg-file for the boot-login-screen - or how to get systemsettings working?
    - I updated from Gutsy today. After some time and downgrading my kernel to one using madwifi I am now finally again on the internet - hurrah!
And a very small thing: Does any beta firefox version support google toolbar?

    For auto login
    In a terminal

    kcontrol

    If not there

    sudo apt-get kcontrol

This may not work if using kde4

For autologin look at System settings - Advanced - Convenience.

            Re: systemsettings crashing

Press Alt+F2 and type kcontrol (if you get an error "Could not find /usr/bin/kcontrol" then type /usr/bin/kcontrol)

            Click on Regional & Accessibility > Country/Region & Language > Locale

Under Country or region ensure that your Country is identified. Under Languages, ensure you language is showing. If the box is blank, click on the Add Language and select your language.

This problem - System Settings crashing - appeared in Gutsy after a specific update (don't remember which one) and this was the cause. Ensuring the Language was properly identified fixed it.

kcontrol is an empty window with nothing in it...

Are you running KDE 3.5.9 or KDE 4?

If you can, open Adept Manager and see if kde-systemsettings is identified as installed (it should be). If it is not, install it. Check also for kcontrol (it should also be installed).
