Just noticed. Had the package msttcorefonts installed on one of my machines. Sudenly in a document ther was no norwegian "æ", just "Ã" instead. I quickly realized this was only for the arial font. After "sudo apt-get remove msttcorefonts" the problem was fixed.
Well, now it's on the internett incase anyone else runs into simular problems.... :-)
