Reinstalled GRUB, now my toolbar doesn't show up (on bottom, time,open apps,etc)

Reinstalled GRUB (using SuperGRUB) after I had installed quite a bit of Windows (only to find a corrupt file on the disc, figures) and now my desktop toolbar isn't there (the one with the open apps, time, date, etc)

I very much doubt that the disappearance of your toolbar has anything to do with Grub.

i figured it didn't, but i feel obligated to give some extra info regarding the situation

Try to start kicker manually (Alt-F2, write kicker and enter )
