For some reasons the display will fall back to VGA after reboot occasionally, usually after a crash, the easiest way to fix this is to start in recovery mode, I've seen on other distro like Puppy, which will auto probe the hardware after a crash, so it always return with correct setting without the need of a 2nd boot, I wonder if Kubuntu can do the same.
- If you have copied text output that contains formatting (colors, highlighting, etc.), please do not enclose it in QUOTE or CODE tags. Just right-click your mouse and choose "Paste Without Formatting" or similar (Paste as plain text).
