    Problem with Gnome Apps under both KDE4 and 3.whatever

    Hi, I just upgraded to HH,
    I use evolution for email (Exchange server... kmail not an option) and every now and then I use firefox...

    I am having huge issues using either of these apps under HH. Firefox super slow and evolution does not start...

    Any one experienced the same (Dell inspiron 6400)

    Fixed FF by removing ff-3.0 and re-installing 2.0

    Evolution is still broken... really want to fix that...

    if anyone had gotten evolution working under HH KDE4 let me know...

      in situations like this, you need to launch the app from command line & post the output.

        Well that is the irritating thing... console output is about 20 blank lines and then:
        * (evolution:6449): WARNING **: LDAP authentication failed (0xffffffff)

        The thing is the app will eventually render but doing something like clicking in the "view" drop down menu will cause the entire window manager (not CPU, I can still CTRL-F1 to a virtual terminal) to freeze for a few minutes... to me it looks like the new version of GTK not playing nicely, and one thing I seek to find out is if it is just me or a wider problem...

          So from the lack of replies I can assume that no one uses Evolution under KDE?

          I am keen to hear from people for whom evolution DOES work in HH KDE as well...
