When asked for a password, you type in your password.

When you right-click on the clock and select Adjust Date & Time you don't get this:

No. I see that you have KDE 4. That explains why you don't have what I have, as I'm using KDE 3.5.9.

if both display the time incorrectly cant you change it on the Vista side and see if it changes on Kubuntu's side automatically.

Actually my first advice would be to change it on the BIOS unless of course youre not familiar with it, then use Vista to change it. you should be able to just change from Kubuntu but since I also dont have 4.0. its the best advice I can give

                    Re: need admin help

Somewhere at the bottom of the (system settings) page where you can set time and date should be a button to log in as admin, depending on your screen size you might have to scroll down to see it.

I have KDE HH and you don't get the box where you put your password. You will need to use CLI to do that or log to KDE as root. Anyway if the time is wrong in vista and Kubuntu then i think your CMOS time is wrong. Change it in the BIOS or boot into vista and change it there.
