    Few questions about sensors

Does anyone know when the new lm-sensor packages are going to be in the repo's? i think its 3.0.1 and compared to the one in the repos its newer and has better support for The new 45/65 NM CPU's.

Can someone recommend a CPU stresser for my Xeon 3110. Its a dual core wolf dale so something multi threaded would be nice. And is it possible to get lm sensors to display the temperatures of the 2 cores and not the overall temperature as that is normally wrong

    Re: Few questions about sensors

sorry but, newer software only come in the repos of the newest ubuntu/kubuntu versions, unless you enable backports and if it's one of the accepted items in backports to get an update. Tho only updates officially will be security updates or if any bug fixes.

In other words, try enabling the backports repository or compiling & installing it yourself.

I installed the sensors and it does display the core temperatures of each core. Unfortunately i could not get it to display the fans speeds or the overall system temperature.

looks like ill have to compile...

assettt which version are you using to get the temps of the cores?

1.3 (in the repos) or the new 3.0.1?

assettt it depends on your computer, does the Fans in ur computer have sensors? are they electronically hooked up to allow control of the fans via software?

Also does your computer have inside a tmp thermometer or so hooked up electronically also to the Motherboard to allow for tmp readings?

Many computers don't have 1 or both, example I don't have neither.
