Konqueror settings

If I change the startup page it is shown in the settings but, even after restarting Konqueror the old startup url is shown.
How come?
Sugggestions?

this answre does not solve the problem, somehow the basic settings of Konqueror are not saved.

Do you mean the 'Home-URL' setting (see attachment) is getting saved, but after restarting 'Konqueror' it shows '/home/user' folder again?

If so, then

1. Go to your addressbar and type the address in it you would like to have as your startpage
2. Click on the tab 'Settings' => 'Save View Provile...' and save the setting for every view-profile, where you want to have this startpage.

nothing seems to work.
indeed I mean the home-url setting
I generally use in Firefox a blanc page to start with
but anything I enter in the setting does not cjange the old setting.

Are we talking about Firefox or Konqueror? That's not the same application!

Konqueror of course.
I just mentioned Firefox where I open with a blanc page.

Hmmm...I'm sorry, then I can't help you...it works here just fine (after saving in each profile).

You will have to overwrite Web navigation profile that is loaded by default with Konqueror. Only write down the url (in your case about:blank) and click on Settings > Save profile Web navigation. A new window will be shown and simply overwrite the profile. But I don't know how to turn back to the old page so any advice will be welcome.
