    KDE4 menu missing icons

    Hi

I am running Kubuntu Hardy. I installed kubuntu-kde4-desktop. However, many icons are missing. Notably, in the "menu -> Applications" entries. Any ideas ?

    BTW, kde4-icons-oxygen is installed.

    Many thanks!

Well, the KDE 4.04 update fixed this. Still, I don't really find KDE 4 usable at this point. Kwin, for instance, takes 90% oftehff CPU all the time, overheating my good ol' overclocked Sempron ;-)

That and CPU throttling doesnt work, modprobe powernow-k8 does nothing... sigh... opensuse 11 is how many days away?

When kwin goes nuts for me...usually after restarting from a crash...I do Ctrl-Esc and I usually find two entries for kwin. One is normal and the other is maxed out. I just kill the bad one and all is fine.

Nate, you are right, thanks a lot! Needless to say, it worked for me ... is this a known issue? Is it reported as a bug ?

In the end, I think it was a good decision of the Kubuntu team to stick to KDE 3 until the 8.10, but distribute KDE 4 in the meantime to help polish the rough edges. Way to go!

          Cheers!
