compiz problem

Hi, after install kubuntu 8.04 i activate compiz and when i restart the desktop is black and i can only use the consola ( that i leave open in last session) how can i desactivate compiz from the console? thanks

There was one update this week that did this to me even though I didn't have Compiz installed.

I restarted the computer, then at the KDM I did a "restart X Server" (from menu) and that fixed it for me. So it might not be Compiz that's causing the issue.
