Using flashplugin-nonfree (Adobe official version).
I have tried just about every setting for FIREFOX_DSP in /etc/firefox/firefoxrc (none, aoss, arts). I have tried both the Hardy default of FF3 as well as removing that and going back to FF2. I can get a youtube video to play maybe 10% of the time. The second or third video will play for about 2 seconds and then lock up (but usually continue to buffer/download). I have tried this with artsd enabled/running as well as disabling it. None of these combinations seem to work. Out of curiosity I installed Ubuntu Hardy and flash videos seem to work better by default.
Can anyone else confirm this ? Is this a KDE issue, Adobe issue or what ? I can't seem to get a handle on the root cause here, but it really feels sound related. My other machine is still Gutsy Kubuntu and FF2 / Adobe plugin works.
