    Display settings crashes system settings

I installed kubuntu 8.04 via wubi ... I don't know if this is related to using wubi to install it or not. But I can't get into display settings ... therefore I can't change my screen resolution ... which makes it unusable.

I just got kubuntu 8.04 kde-4 installed on my GT5404 ... intel main board D945GCL.

When I go into system settings then > Display settings ... system settings crash.

    Here is my log:

Re: Display settings crashes system settings

Sometimes installing the dev files helps (not saying it will, though); make sure you have the KDE4 dev libraries installed:
    Code:
    sudo aptitude install kdelibs5-dev
Then, try opening Display Settings again. Also, what video card do you have? Some vendors (such as Nvidia) provide utilities to assist you with setting your desired resolution.
    Asus G1S-X3:
    Intel Core2 Duo T7500, Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT, 4Gb PC2-5300, 320Gb Hitachi 7k320, Linux ( )

Just so you know. I have the same problem, so you're not alone. I'm going to try to install the kdelibs5-dev like he suggests and will let you know if that fixes anything. I'm using rc2 kubuntu.
