Security Issue, Kubuntu Hardy

For the last week or so it intermittently boots without asking for the password. This happens about every third or fourth boot. The boot can be any of the boot options: restart, logout, or hibernate. I never use suspend, so I don't know about that.

This could be a serious issue in a large office or a home with curious kids.

What gives?

have you tried issuing this/these security issue/issues in launchpad in the Hardy Heron Section?
