KDE4 - windows stick to panel or top of screen [solved]

I am currently using HH with KDE4 and it is mostly running fine. However, there is one reaction that is causing me a problem.

If I move a window - say Firefox - down to touch the bottom panel I can't get it to break free when later I wish to move it back up. I get the same reaction if I move it up so it touches the top of the screen - it won't break free to move down.

I know this is most likely a configuration option, but I can't locate it so I can turn it off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you running Compiz or the KDE4 "Desktop Effects"? I think your problem is caused by a configuration setting called "sticky windows" or something like that. If you can find it and turn it off, it will stop that behavior.

      To dibl:

I finally found it. I had looked in KDE Effects and Compiz Management several times and could not find it. You caused me to look again with a fresh outlook.

It was in compiz -> Effects -> Wobbly Windows -> Snap Inverted

Removing that check box cleared up the problem. Thanks again.
