    Scribus

On the road to only open software, one thing I am slowly beginning to use is Scribus desktop publishing.

However, it is behaving rather strange:

I can get it to be reasonably stable in W2000 and Hardy Heron KDE4 - but pagination stays at the first digit: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,1,1,1,1,1,1 ... and so on ... 2,2,2,2 ... 3,3,3 ...

Then, when I go into Hardy Heron KDE3 - I'd better work at a spare copy, for most of the time it will break down and leave me with a broken file. But - when I am in luck, I find that the pagination is correct, so I can make those important pdf files for the book printing company.

When I try the forum - I get a "denied access" message, even though I am using a login name and password that is being confirmed.

Anyone else tried this software know what is going on?

After the second cataract operation I'm actually able to read this but - it says that 1.3.4 don't ned mulitiple page number characters.

While I have 1.3.11 on Gutsy, Hardy and Windows 2000: Where Scribus 1.3.11 behave like 1.3.4 in Gutsy, but not in Hardy and Windows 2000.

      Weird.
