    Fix for Ugly Firefox 3

I don't it's just me who's been experiencing a utterly fugly Firefox setup on Hardy ....Under KDE4 it got even worse (even with the gtk-kde4 packages installed) with chopping tab bars and the like. Well, worry no more, I've found a theme which banishes the problems and practically looks identical to "default" Firefox:

    Phoenity Aura

Have fun! (And please tell me it's not just me )

i'm with brooker. fx3 isn't "fugly". especially with all the desktop environment integration work done on fx3.

Well I'm on KDE4 Hardy fully updated and FF3 is UGLY we're talking Win98 ugly!!!

        It's so ugly, I have to say it again.. it's U G L Y.

It works ok, but it's very very un-attractive.

Yeah, I'm having some issues with font sizes, on this forum, with FF3. For some reason when I hit "Reply" and type, it is about 6 point font, and my old eyes don't see it very well. :P

Just curious, any chance you folks are using the same profile in ff3 that you had in ff2?

I did that at first and had several problems until I erased the .mozilla directory and started ff3 from scratch. Then, all my problems cleared up. Just a thought.

I had been doing that, but I have a fresh install now. The only part of my old profile that still exists is my bookmarks.

In the latest polishlinux.org look at 4.1: http://polishlinux.org/kde/kde-41-the-annoyances/
they highlighted a great "experimental" firefox 3 theme...

                  https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7574

This matches the look/feel of konq almost exactly... which of course means the active tab doesn't really "pop", but still much, much better than anything else out there i have used so far...

Is Firefox the new Betty Suarez (Yo soy Bea, la fea)? Or am I missing something?

i use this theme http://webdesigns.ms11.net/winstripethemes.html + this add-on addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1208 for firefox 2.0 - the classic menus tho may work for you, also if it says that the theme isn't for FF3, download it, save the .jar file, rename to .zip unzip - edit the .rdf's max version to a higher number save re-zip, rename extensions to .xpi, ctrl+o in ur browser, fine it and open it - it should now install. However I haven't tested it out on FF3 so I don't know if it works. alas the classic menus for winstripe, etc. theme can be hacked the same way as the .jar files, just rename .xpi to .zip - extract, edit the rdf files max version, re-zip, change .zip to .xpi and open it up with ur browser and installm etc.. and so forth.

yes the classic winstripes themes work on kubuntu and linux in general i think, at least on GG 7.10 with swiftweseal 2.0.0.14, etc..
