I just did the latest update on alpha3 [do the updates provide the equivalent of the next alpha release? I am not sure how that works....]
It stopped with an error.
I did dpkg --configure -a and got some errors:
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of language-support-writing-en:
language-support-writing-en depends on openoffice.org-hyphenation-en-us; however:
Package openoffice.org-hyphenation-en-us is not installed.
dpkg: error processing language-support-writing-en (--configure):
dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
When I installed alpha 3, I said "English" and it seemed to be all there before, so I don't know why it is now not installed.
Then other errors:
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of language-support-en:
language-support-en depends on language-support-writing-en; however:
Package language-support-writing-en is not configured yet.
dpkg: error processing language-support-en (--configure):
dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of mozilla-firefox-locale-en-gb:
mozilla-firefox-locale-en-gb depends on firefox-2 | language-support-en; however:
Package firefox-2 is not installed.
Package language-support-en is not configured yet.
dpkg: error processing mozilla-firefox-locale-en-gb (--configure):
dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of language-support-translations-en:
language-support-translations-en depends on mozilla-firefox-locale-en-gb; however:
Package mozilla-firefox-locale-en-gb is not configured yet.
dpkg: error processing language-support-translations-en (--configure):
dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Errors were encountered while processing:
language-support-writing-en
language-support-en
mozilla-firefox-locale-en-gb
language-support-translations-en
A few days ago, the update finished successfully, but left 2 packages not updated - firefox and a language entry. I noticed it was firefox 3, so I was a bit interested to see how it would install. But when I clicked the upgrade button, it came back with a "remove" on the english language item. I didn't want to uninstall that, so I canceled the changes.
It seems now I have upgraded to firefox 3, and the language change was made at some point.
Is there a way to get this fixed?
Here is some of the rest of the stuff that successfully installed:
Setting up openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-au (2.1-3ubuntu1) ...
Updating OpenOffice.org's dictionary list... done.
Setting up openoffice.org-help-en-gb (1:2.3.1-3ubuntu2) .
Setting up gimp-help-en (2.4.0-2)
Setting up ispell (3.1.20.0-4.4) ...
Setting up ibritish (3.1.20.0-4.4) ...
Setting up iamerican (3.1.20.0-4.4) ...
