Installing KDE 4 under Hardy Heron Alpha 2

Hi there i'm aware of the topics relating to KDE 4, and am aware that both KDE 3 and KDE 4 is included under Hardy Heron Alpha 2 etc etc.

With that out of the way

Could someone please help me on setting up KDE 4 as the default environment, all my data is backed up to a different hard drive and i am able to move data between discs.

    Cheers folks

Did you try choosing the KDE4 session in KDM?

All I can say is that KDE4 is quite stable. I can't say that about plasma though.
        I'm using a pseudo kde4-kde3 with most of kde4 + kdesktop(kde3) + kicker(kde3)

P.S. I'm using the Hardy Heron alpha1 with updates. Does that make it Alpha 2?

After todays updates when logging into kde4 I get a white screen, no kicker and have to log out with ctrl+alt+backspace.

Any body else getting this with kde4?

I got the white screen, but managed to install the wallpapers for KDE4 then just right clicked onto the desktop and voila, could choose which wallpaper to use! Konqueror is crashing on my favourite sites and for some reason wouldn't let me save the backtraces, but KDE4 let me import my progs from KDE3 so now using my favourite browser Firefox 3 and of course Thunderbird ( I don't like Kontact) but there aren't many widgets to load onto the desktop so not bothering for now. I suppose loads of different ones will soon appear (a weather one I hope!) So far I have only had problems with Konq so well pleased.

On a new HH Alpha 4 installation, these instructions fail -- the package says "BREAK!" in Adept manager.

                Maybe next week ....
